The three-stage MSG Centac C700 is a packaged centrifugal compressor for industrial oil-free air systems. Each compression stage uses a geared rotor assembly with interstage heat removal and condensate separation.
The C700 three-stage arrangement compresses air successively through three impeller/diffuser stages. The motor drives a common bullgear and individually geared pinions, allowing each stage to run at its selected speed. The referenced proposal specifies precision AGMA 12 helical gearing.
Backward-leaning stainless-steel impellers are mounted on pinion shafts and balanced as complete assemblies. Hydrodynamic journal bearings support radial loads, while thrust-bearing arrangements manage aerodynamic axial loads. Radial vibration probes and motor temperature monitoring support condition assessment and protective shutdown.
Floating carbon-ring seal cartridges separate each compression stage from the lubricated gearbox. An air seal, two oil seals, injected seal air and an atmospheric vent form the separation system. This Centac design differs from the labyrinth seals used in the TURBO-AIR models.
The three-stage arrangement uses cooling between compression stages to limit air temperature and reduce subsequent compression work. Cartridge coolers are integrated into the casing, with stainless-steel mesh moisture separators and condensate drains. Final aftercooling and water-manifold scope are confirmed in the selected package.
The baseplate-mounted lubrication system supplies the gearing and hydrodynamic bearings. Main and auxiliary pumps provide running and pre/post-start lubrication, with oil cooling, heating, filtering and pressure protection. Removable stage heads and access to rotor assemblies support inspection and planned maintenance.
The referenced controller supports Modbus RTU and TCP through RS485 and Ethernet. Inlet guide vane regulation maintains discharge pressure as demand changes; bypass control manages very low demand. Compressor vibration, lubrication status and PT100 motor temperatures feed the alarm and trip functions. Remote monitoring options are confirmed during quotation.
The final quotation defines included equipment and options. Depending on the selected duty, the package can include:
The example below is a custom 10.5 barg selection. Pressure capability, air flow and motor enclosure apply to this proposal and require confirmation against the final performance curve.

Send AVISTA your required pressure, flow with its reference conditions, operating temperature, cooling-water data, electrical supply and installation requirements. AVISTA can assist with package selection, commissioning and spare-parts planning.
Industrial manufacturing, chemical plants, utilities and oil-free process or instrument-air systems are potential applications. Confirm pressure, air quality, operating profile and site utilities before selection. Oil-free air still requires appropriate treatment where a specified dew point or particle class is needed.
Installation planning covers cooling-water connections, condensate drainage, inlet and discharge piping, blow-off routing, electrical protection, instrument air and maintenance clearances. Package dimensions, lifting data and utility loads should be taken from the approved project drawings.
AVISTA can support duty selection, technical clarification, quotation, documentation coordination, commissioning, maintenance planning and genuine spare parts. Send required flow with reference conditions, discharge pressure, inlet temperature range, humidity, elevation, cooling-water data, electrical supply and control interfaces for an engineered selection.
No. It is the motor offered for the referenced duty. Motor power, voltage and enclosure depend on air flow, pressure, site conditions and the customer electrical specification.
Yes. The Centac design separates the compressed-air path from the lubricated gearing and bearings. Final air-treatment requirements and the selected package are confirmed during technical review.
